Since I was a kid I have been interested in many hobbies. And since I was a kid I’ve really heard the same phase, “wow, you do it all don’t you”
Believe me. I don’t do it all to make you feel like you’re not doing enough. But if it inspires you that’s great. Get after it!
I’ve also heard that you should just pick one career and focus on that. You put your energy in that area and it flourishes.
Heres why I think that’s bullshit.
I’m a hairstylist. And though I love my job and making people’s day with a transformational Haircut and color, I just wouldn’t want to do it full time. Why? Because as much as a love it and as much as I’d like to think I do a decent job, it’s emotionally & physically exhausting. I’m on my feet all day with my arms above my shoulders and I hear one crazy short story after another.
I know people joke that a hairstylist is really a
th-hair-apist but seriously 😳 sometimes the stories first time clients tell me. I’m like why would you tell me that 😳. Why would you tell a complete stranger your most private moments. News flash! I don’t want to hear about it.
And then I’m a bridal Seamstress. Which is very stress relieving. I sit in my studio in absolute silence. I never play the radio. I rarely have the tv on. If anything I’m listening to the “you bet your garden” podcast. Because yup. You guessed it. I love to garden to.
In fact I consider myself a gardener & I would love to homestead.
